Here is where it all begins. We will first of all review the internal dimensions from your order information, and cut the 75mm polystyrene insulation boards to the required dimensions. After reviewing your vivarium size, reptile species, and design chosen. We will then stack various shaped and sized polystyrene blocks to create a base foundation to work from. Once we are happy with the base, we will secure all pieces into place using a high grade silicone glue, and allow it to set, ready for Stage 2 ... 

Now it's time to carve the design. This is all done by hand using a carving knife. We will carefully consider the reptile species, and ensure any ledges, hides, and tunnel entrances are fully fit for purpose. During this stage, we will also make the cuts for any air vents, using the information you provided. Once we are 100% satisfied with the design, the full background will be hit with a heat gun. This smooths out all the surface, and condenses the polystyrene, creating a more solid structure, ready for Stage 3 ...

Once the final design has been shaped, we are now ready to start applying the grout, and colour. We will apply four coats of a high grade tile grout, allowing enough time between each coat for the grout to fully set and dry. With the final coat, we will also mix in some cement pigment dye, to add colour to the background, depending on your chosen colour during checkout. Once the final coat has set and dried, we are ready for Stage 4 ...

The background is almost finished and ready for the final checks. During this stage, we will inspect the background to ensure everything meets our level of quality and standard. Once we are satisfied with the final product, we will pack the background into multiple packages, depending on size. The background will be booked in with DPD 24hr, and you will receive a SMS, once the background has been collected and started transit.
